3/21/2023 0 Comments Dark woods topic![]() ![]() Just have a screen in the middle of the dark woods with a very thin stream running through it or some faint water sound effect, and an approachable option to investigate that takes you to a bathing area. Angry fish, male Zora, adventurous eels, it gives an excuse to for water oriented things, if there weren't any planned aquatic areas to begin with.Īlso, it's KIND of getting ahead of things.and trying to add too many layers of complexity to the project could spell its doom very quickly, but I rather like the way they did things in Muramasa: The demon blade for wii with branching paths in an otherwise side scrolling game. But the trap is more of a musing all its own, obviously something that could really be added anywhere. ![]() In hindsight, the stream and trap could be put side by side if it's just passed as a large enough pond, maybe with the two areas separated by some downed tree in the middle of the water, rock, or just the act of one side of the pond on one side and one on the other. Zora don't seem the type to go rogue, but maybe one trying to escape (or rescue another Zora?) could try alternate methods of persuasion to keep Krystal quiet about her whereabouts.Ī waterfall would be best suited elsewhere though.any jungle area, really, or mountains, that sort of thing. It would be more a function of practicality than look-she's-naked-again-ness, but if you wanted to sort of make up for the lack of rampant exhibitionism you could maybe have a "trap" bath either before or after the real one.but you'd have to have a few screens between them or it'd seem a little weird. Still, if you have a small stream winding through at the beginning of the forest with maybe the sound of a crow off somewhere, it could maintain the creepy vibe to offset the inherent safeness of running water. Granted, you'd need a special bathing animation for any body of water she can't actually submerge in, but it's one that could no doubt find use in similarly small streams or creeks elsewhere in the world. I like the idea of a stream though, the smaller the better. Either way, it would be a bit too much peace for a dark creepy wood, like Kalypso said. Maybe at an Oasis in the Desert Stage, perhaps? Or at a hot-spring in the Snow Stage? Now that's a bit more viable.Ī waterfall in the dark woods would throw it off a bit, because even then you'd theoretically have pseudo soothing sounds of the waterfall in the distance.if sound was even implemented like that anyway. The waterfall emulates a mental symbol of peace and cleansing, so-not to discourage the idea, but-a waterfall might not be best suited for this level. However, it is totally and completely possible, and could set a mood for the wood, even though we're actually looking to make "The Dark Wood" a dark-kind of creepy forest. To make the waterfall actually worth putting effort into, it'd have to be big otherwise, its a complete and total waste of time on a small scenery object that you'll just pass right by in order to fuck the next NPC. ![]() Maybe two or three darker blue lines moving down the fall at random intervals, in order to give the effect that water pressure is moving on a natural surface. Īctually, its just three frames of cel-shaded shine changing and moving up and down repetitively, three to four slightly different frames of blue water moving downward, and some mist at the bottom hiding the water contact.
